Frequently Asked Questions About Our Tests
How does the Diagnox Menopause Test work?
Diagnox’s menopause test works by measuring levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in your urine, providing an indication of your menopausal status.
- To use the test, you start by collecting a fresh urine sample. The timing of the sample collection may be specified in the instructions to ensure accuracy.
- Once you have your urine sample, you apply it to the test strip. This is typically done by dipping the strip into the sample or using a dropper provided in the kit to place a few drops of urine onto the strip. The test strip is designed with chemicals that react with FSH present in the urine.
- As the test processes, which usually takes a few minutes, the strip will undergo a color change. This reaction occurs because the strip is sensitive to the presence of FSH. Elevated levels of FSH are often associated with the transition into menopause, and this will be reflected in the color change on the test strip.
- After the waiting period, compare the color on the test strip to the color chart included with the kit. This chart will help you determine whether the FSH levels are elevated, suggesting that you might be approaching or are in menopause.
For a more accurate interpretation of your results, especially if the test shows elevated FSH or if you have other symptoms, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare provider. They can provide a comprehensive evaluation, confirm menopausal status, and discuss any further steps or treatments if needed.
