What is the Urinox-UTI test used for?
The Urinox-UTI test is an at-home urine test kit specifically designed to assist in identifying urinary tract infections (UTIs). This test analyzes a urine sample to detect the presence of certain key indicators that are commonly associated with UTIs.
One of the two parameters the Urinox-UTI test measures is leukocytes, also known as white blood cells. These cells are part of the body’s immune response and typically increase in number when an infection is present. An elevated level of leukocytes in the urine often suggests that the body is responding to an infection in the urinary tract. The presence of these cells can indicate inflammation or infection, making the detection of leukocytes a critical component of diagnosing UTIs.
The other parameter checked by the UTI test are nitrites, which are compounds produced by certain bacteria that cause UTIs. Many bacteria responsible for UTIs convert nitrate, a substance normally found in urine, into nitrite. Therefore, the presence of nitrites in the urine can be a strong indicator of a bacterial infection. By identifying nitrites, the Urinox-UTI test helps pinpoint the likelihood of a UTI caused by these bacteria.
