Leukocytes (leukocyte esterase, simply white blood cells - WBC) are the cells of the immune system that protect the body against infections. It is quite normal for a few white blood cells to be present in the urine. High levels of white blood cells in urine will result in a positive test result, which may suggest an infection, such as a UTI. Positive leukocytes in urine test may also indicate inflammation in the urinary tract.

Normal urine contains chemicals called nitrates. If bacteria enter the urinary tract, nitrates can turn into different chemicals called nitrites. The nitrite in urine test also provides an indirect method for early detection of significant bacteriuria (bacteria in urine).

Urobilinogen

Urobilinogen is formed from the reduction of bilirubin, a yellowish substance found in the liver that helps break down red blood cells. Normal urine contains some urobilinogen (up to 1.0 mg/dL). If there is little or no urobilinogen in urine, it can mean the liver isn't working correctly. Too much urine urobilinogen (> 2 mg/dL) may indicate liver diseases such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, hemolytic anemia, or liver damage due to drugs, etc.

Best kit on the market

I feel guilty that I originally wrote a bad review for this. I tested these strips with a control: water - because I know what the Ph of water is and these strips did not work. But the seller contacted me and let me know that these strips are not litmus tests and will only work on bodily fluids, not non-ionic fluids like water.So I gave it a second chance and I'm glad I did, because it does work. I tried it both with vaginal fluids and even with spit and each time, it gave me accurate results.Not only that, but this came very thoughtfully packaged with each strip in its own anti-moisture pouch. The problem with other testing kits is once you open the package, all the strips are packaged together in a bundle and once you break the seal, the other unused strips lose their effectiveness. I also like how this kit came with its own sterile swabs that are more foam-like. Other kits I have used tell you to use a Q-tip and the Q-tips absorbs all the fluids making it difficult to get any on the testing strip itself.This entire kit has been thoughtfully designed and I whole-heartedly recommend it. It's the best one on the market and I've used/tested several of these kits.Original review below:Before using this, I wanted to check the accuracy of the test strips. I used it on water from my tap and was dismayed to see it say it had a PH of 3 or 4. Fearing that I somehow had acidic water, I next tried these strips with store bought purified water. Again, it registered a PH of 3 or 4. And that's when I concluded these strips are worthless. They seem to just default on PH 3 or 4, which would always indicate a "healthy" vagina had you actually used these to test vaginal PH.

This is something I wish I knew about years ago.

I have had to go to the doctor over the years and never knew there was anything on the market that helps in this way. Itâ€™s the difference in colors and also tells you symptoms along the colors. I love you can see what it most likely is. That helps to know do you need to go get an otc cream or make an appointment. These are life changing and something Iâ€™m sharing with my friends.

Extremely helpful to know where you're at

Sometimes it's better to go in and double check your pH instead of reaching for the boric acid and yogurts right away. There have been plenty of times where I was unsure about my pH and went to grab the boric acid even when I felt like I didn't really need it. This is great to have in your feminine hygiene routine just to check with your bits that everything is going well. They're really easy to read and they don't take more than a minute to give the correct reading.

Nice at home testing

If you are familiar with your pH being off, this is good kit to have around. It will not tell you if you have an infection, but it will tell you your pH is not right. This kit comes with 10 individually wrapped swabs and 10 individually wrapped test strips. For $1 per test, it is worth it know whether or not you need to make an appointment with your physician.

Great idea

I think it's great to know your feminine ph to keep everything on track. Now-a-days we have otc natural options that aren't just prescription to help us naturally stay in the right ph levels. This item helps to test you to keep you balanced. Especially if you struggle with any sensitivity, this may help you figure out what is causing your concerns. Me personally learned that 'created' fragrance is just not good so it's best to stay away from any fragrance at all (including detergent) and the levels stay where they are supposed to.

Great for the at home test but not the cheapest strips!

My wife got this for her. She was able to test these strips immediately & it showed the result well. My wife recommends this product even though we can't say for sure if it works with accuracy since there is no way to measure the results.Talking about this product, my 2 cents are below :Pros:- Great packaging & it is quality product- Very easy to use and comes with a detailed description in manual- PH range is easily identifiable- Set of 10 tests with everything individually packedCons:- Not the cheapest price for test strips available in the market and hence deducting one star

I hope this test is telling me something about what is maybe going on in my body.

I can not vouch for the accuracy, not at least until I make an appointment, which the test "tells" me that I should. I ended up at 5.3 PH, middle of the go get checked results. I have not found too much info online about what it means if your PH is over 5.0. Different factors can be in play for me, as I am older, get semi frequent UTIs, had a hysterectomy 16 years ago for uterine cancer, and two months ago was on strong antibiotics... but I still don't know if I need to make an appointment based on these results. The test itself was easy, and I will try it again in the next couple of days to see if anything has changed, then I will decide whether or not to be seen. If this is an accurate test, then I guess that it is a good way to follow your own path and keep track.

Very easy to use.

These are very easy to use. They seem to be accurate (I tried them on myself & with soap just to check)My only complaint is that it says for a ph over a 4.7 to consult your doctor when a healthy vaginal ph COULD be anything under 5 depending on the person or when you last showered/exercised/had your menstrual cycle/age/etc. This could scare someone into thinking they have something wrong when they donâ€™t. I guess itâ€™s better to be safe than sorry though! The strip also starts as yellow, which is the color for a healthy ph. It should start out with a different color in my opinion.Otherwise, I do recommend!

Necessary and helpful!

Letâ€™s face it, there are times when you think something may be wrong â€œdown thereâ€, but you donâ€™t want to medicate or visit your doctor unnecessarily. So, these are nice to have around the house for peace of mind.Unfortunately for me, I had one of those occasions just after I received these, so I had an opportunity to test them out. Sure enough, my PH was off, and I needed real medication. My doctor was impressed that I knew what to tell her and I was able to get the situation resolved quickly.

Great addition to a hygiene drawer!

Easy to use and fast results. Being post- menopausal, a lot of things happen down there and it's nice to know if it's something worth a trip to the doctor or not. These are great for eliminating those concerns and helping make a more educated decision. They also save an unnecessary trip to the doctor if everything is well.

These test strips really come in handy when I'm not sure what's going on inside my body. Great for keeping the pH balance healthy by giving you a way to monitor whether or not it's too high, too low or just right. Pretty convenient

I bought this item to detect pH levels. It is great for women trying to monitor their health. It can detect infections based on pH levels. Itâ€™s very convenient and also helps you to skip a doctors appointment. Make sure you use the key provided for accuracy. You can also test a few times if you are unsure. Seems to work

The tests arrived in wrapped packaging which I appreciated because then I know itâ€™s definitely new. I like how each strip and swab is individually wrapped in clean packaging. The swab was very small which made it very easy to insert during testing! I was nervous but found myself to be very pleasantly surprised and relieved by how easy this was. It looked similar to the swabs in the at home COVID kits. I added a photo of what my strip looked like before testing. I put the swab onto the color indicator and I could see the indicator soak up fluid from the swab. Since it started out at the yellow color and I do not currently have any issues, the color stayed about the same. This will be a good baseline for me since I do have fluctuations in my health there at times. It was very easy to compare the color on the strip to the sample colors on the packaging that each strip comes in. I would highly recommend this product. Of course, itâ€™s always a good idea to go to the doctor if you are having symptoms.

Simple to use with quick results!

Super easy to use! There's a small brochure inside that breaks down how to use it but basically you use the swab to collect a sample and then touch the swab to the teeny tiny pH strip. In 30 seconds you compare the color on the pH strip to the chart and it indicates your pH level. The chart seems very conservative stating that anything under 4.4 pH is considered balanced and if you're over that to consult your physician, but there are several online resources that say the normal pH range is 3.8 to 5. In any case, these tests are great. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone concerned about their pH level down there.

Appears to work well

I recently developed a yeast infection after taking a post-surgical round of antibiotics. I could feel the unmistakable itch developing and immediately began an OTC 3 day topical cream. My doctor also prescribed an oral pill. Despite the aggressive treatment, I wasn't sure if the treatment had fully worked. I used one of these test strips to check my PH and also used my tap water as a control element. The water turned the strip a dark green, whereas my V swab turned the test strip a slightly different shade of yellow, indicating I'm within the normal range. I'm going to keep these test strips handy to do random checks and if I ever develop symptoms that cause me discomfort. I think they're a great in-home tool to keep an eye on your V health.

Using this kit confirmed my suspicions

I received this item specifically to write a review that is both honest and potentially helpful to others considering a purchase.I started experiencing symptoms that were uncomfortable enough to make me wonder if something was up. Sure enough! Well, within 30 seconds I had my answer. Next step, consult my physician.The kit had a plastic wrapping. All the swabs and test strips are single-use and individually wrapped. The test strip packets each contain a desiccant to absorb any moisture. The instructions are well written. The expiration date is 16 months away.This is something every woman should consider having on hand â€œjust in caseâ€.

Very easy to use, result shows up in 30 seconds

These test strips are very easy to use. Just use the sterile swab in the test kit, collect some sample from your vagina and swipe it on the test strip. The result will show up in 30 seconds and then compare the color on the strip with the color chart. It is nice to know what's going on down there sometimes. It is discreet and I get to test it in the comfort of my own home.

Great tests to make sure all is well "down there".

I probably wouldn't have given these Vaginox Vaginal PH Test Strips a second look a month or two ago. But I had my annual pap smear and was told I had BV and needed antibiotics. I had no symptoms of an infection at all and would never have known it if I hadn't had my annual exam. After that, I started to wonder if that has happened before and I didn't know it. These little tests don't diagnose but they do tell you when something is off and you should contact your doctor.There are 30 individually wrapped swabs and 30 individually wrapped test strips. Collection is simple and the results show up in seconds. I took three of the tests and they all came back in the normal PH range. I will probably do a test monthly. Since I did have an infection and had no symptoms, I think it's prudent to check my PH values to be sure it doesn't happen again. I am very happy with the tests and the great packaging. Everything is separate so there is no cross contamination. They are easy to do and results are fast.

I hope this test is telling me something about what is maybe going on in my body.

I can not vouch for the accuracy, not at least until I make an appointment, which the test "tells" me that I should. I ended up at 5.3 PH, middle of the go get checked results. I have not found too much info online about what it means if your PH is over 5.0. Different factors can be in play for me, as I am older, get semi frequent UTIs, had a hysterectomy 16 years ago for uterine cancer, and two months ago was on strong antibiotics... but I still don't know if I need to make an appointment based on these results. The test itself was easy, and I will try it again in the next couple of days to see if anything has changed, then I will decide whether or not to be seen. If this is an accurate test, then I guess that it is a good way to follow your own path and keep track.

Very easy to use.

These are very easy to use. They seem to be accurate (I tried them on myself & with soap just to check)My only complaint is that it says for a ph over a 4.7 to consult your doctor when a healthy vaginal ph COULD be anything under 5 depending on the person or when you last showered/exercised/had your menstrual cycle/age/etc. This could scare someone into thinking they have something wrong when they donâ€™t. I guess itâ€™s better to be safe than sorry though! The strip also starts as yellow, which is the color for a healthy ph. It should start out with a different color in my opinion.Otherwise, I do recommend!

Necessary and helpful!

Letâ€™s face it, there are times when you think something may be wrong â€œdown thereâ€, but you donâ€™t want to medicate or visit your doctor unnecessarily. So, these are nice to have around the house for peace of mind.Unfortunately for me, I had one of those occasions just after I received these, so I had an opportunity to test them out. Sure enough, my PH was off, and I needed real medication. My doctor was impressed that I knew what to tell her and I was able to get the situation resolved quickly.

Great addition to a hygiene drawer!

Easy to use and fast results. Being post- menopausal, a lot of things happen down there and it's nice to know if it's something worth a trip to the doctor or not. These are great for eliminating those concerns and helping make a more educated decision. They also save an unnecessary trip to the doctor if everything is well.

So easy to use, gives me peace of mind.

These test strips really come in handy when I'm not sure what's going on inside my body. Great for keeping the pH balance healthy by giving you a way to monitor whether or not it's too high, too low or just right. Definitely something that comes in handy when I'm not sure if I might have a yeast infection, etc. Highly recommend for women's health!Easy to use and pretty much self-explanatory. Pretty convenient

I bought this item to detect pH levels. It is great for women trying to monitor their health. It can detect infections based on pH levels. Itâ€™s very convenient and also helps you to skip a doctors appointment. Make sure you use the key provided for accuracy. You can also test a few times if you are unsure. I thought that this was a great tool.

Seems to work

The tests arrived in wrapped packaging which I appreciated because then I know itâ€™s definitely new. I like how each strip and swab is individually wrapped in clean packaging. The swab was very small which made it very easy to insert during testing! I was nervous but found myself to be very pleasantly surprised and relieved by how easy this was. It looked similar to the swabs in the at home COVID kits. I added a photo of what my strip looked like before testing. I put the swab onto the color indicator and I could see the indicator soak up fluid from the swab. Since it started out at the yellow color and I do not currently have any issues, the color stayed about the same. This will be a good baseline for me since I do have fluctuations in my health there at times. It was very easy to compare the color on the strip to the sample colors on the packaging that each strip comes in. I would highly recommend this product. Of course, itâ€™s always a good idea to go to the doctor if you are having symptoms.

Simple to use with quick results!

Super easy to use! There's a small brochure inside that breaks down how to use it but basically you use the swab to collect a sample and then touch the swab to the teeny tiny pH strip. In 30 seconds you compare the color on the pH strip to the chart and it indicates your pH level. The chart seems very conservative stating that anything under 4.4 pH is considered balanced and if you're over that to consult your physician, but there are several online resources that say the normal pH range is 3.8 to 5. In any case, these tests are great. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone concerned about their pH level down there.

Appears to work well

I recently developed a yeast infection after taking a post-surgical round of antibiotics. I could feel the unmistakable itch developing and immediately began an OTC 3 day topical cream. My doctor also prescribed an oral pill. Despite the aggressive treatment, I wasn't sure if the treatment had fully worked. I used one of these test strips to check my PH and also used my tap water as a control element. The water turned the strip a dark green, whereas my V swab turned the test strip a slightly different shade of yellow, indicating I'm within the normal range. I'm going to keep these test strips handy to do random checks and if I ever develop symptoms that cause me discomfort. I think they're a great in-home tool to keep an eye on your V health.

Using this kit confirmed my suspicions

I received this item specifically to write a review that is both honest and potentially helpful to others considering a purchase.I started experiencing symptoms that were uncomfortable enough to make me wonder if something was up. Sure enough! Well, within 30 seconds I had my answer. Next step, consult my physician.The kit had a plastic wrapping. All the swabs and test strips are single-use and individually wrapped. The test strip packets each contain a desiccant to absorb any moisture. The instructions are well written. The expiration date is 16 months away.This is something every woman should consider having on hand â€œjust in caseâ€.

Very easy to use, result shows up in 30 seconds

These test strips are very easy to use. Just use the sterile swab in the test kit, collect some sample from your vagina and swipe it on the test strip. The result will show up in 30 seconds and then compare the color on the strip with the color chart. It is nice to know what's going on down there sometimes. It is discreet and I get to test it in the comfort of my own home.

Great tests to make sure all is well "down there".

I probably wouldn't have given these Vaginox Vaginal PH Test Strips a second look a month or two ago. But I had my annual pap smear and was told I had BV and needed antibiotics. I had no symptoms of an infection at all and would never have known it if I hadn't had my annual exam. After that, I started to wonder if that has happened before and I didn't know it. These little tests don't diagnose but they do tell you when something is off and you should contact your doctor.There are 30 individually wrapped swabs and 30 individually wrapped test strips. Collection is simple and the results show up in seconds. I took three of the tests and they all came back in the normal PH range. I will probably do a test monthly. Since I did have an infection and had no symptoms, I think it's prudent to check my PH values to be sure it doesn't happen again. I am very happy with the tests and the great packaging. Everything is separate so there is no cross contamination. They are easy to do and results are fast.

Best kit on the market

I feel guilty that I originally wrote a bad review for this. I tested these strips with a control: water - because I know what the Ph of water is and these strips did not work. But the seller contacted me and let me know that these strips are not litmus tests and will only work on bodily fluids, not non-ionic fluids like water.So I gave it a second chance and I'm glad I did, because it does work. I tried it both with vaginal fluids and even with spit and each time, it gave me accurate results.Not only that, but this came very thoughtfully packaged with each strip in its own anti-moisture pouch. The problem with other testing kits is once you open the package, all the strips are packaged together in a bundle and once you break the seal, the other unused strips lose their effectiveness. I also like how this kit came with its own sterile swabs that are more foam-like. Other kits I have used tell you to use a Q-tip and the Q-tips absorbs all the fluids making it difficult to get any on the testing strip itself.This entire kit has been thoughtfully designed and I whole-heartedly recommend it. It's the best one on the market and I've used/tested several of these kits.Original review below:Before using this, I wanted to check the accuracy of the test strips. I used it on water from my tap and was dismayed to see it say it had a PH of 3 or 4. Fearing that I somehow had acidic water, I next tried these strips with store bought purified water. Again, it registered a PH of 3 or 4. And that's when I concluded these strips are worthless. They seem to just default on PH 3 or 4, which would always indicate a "healthy" vagina had you actually used these to test vaginal PH.
